Why choose GCS-certified clothing?
GCS is an independent standard created to improve the welfare of cashmere goats and the economic, social, and ecological conditions experienced by cashmere farmers. Animal welfare is at the heart of the standard, which is why the five animal freedoms always protect Cashmere goats. This means that goats have access to natural pasture, sufficient food, and drinking water. Furthermore, it means freedom from; pain, injury, discomfort, distress, fear, and freedom to express normal and natural behavior.
GCS ensures full traceability of the cashmere as it moves through all production stages, from the farmers in inner Mongolia to clothing production. GCS-certified cashmere may not be mixed with non-certified cashmere.
