A MOS MOSH Christmas

A MOS MOSH Christmas
December has arrived, and we decorated the office at MOS MOSH, making it extra cozy for this year’s Christmas.
The Christmas tree is decorated with ornaments, and Christmas jingles are summering around the various department offices.

Christmas & Christmas treats
We love the classic danish Christmas cookies “Pebernødder” – especially if they are home-baked! They have been a part of the danish Christmas traditions for many years and are some of the most popular ones in Denmark every year. This is the “Pebernødder” recipe we always use if you want to try them yourself.

Ingredients:

  • 125 g Butter, soft
  • 125 g Sugar
  • ½ dl Whipping Cream
  • ½ Tsp Ground Ginger
  • 1 Tsp Ground Cinnamon
  • ½ Tsp White Pepper
  • ½ Tsp Ground Cardamom
  • ½ Tsp Baking Soda
  • ½ Tsp Baking Powder
  • 250 g Wheat Flour

How to:

  1. Start by using an electric mixer to whip the butter and sugar together in a bowl.
  2. Add your whipping cream and whip it extra until you think it’s enough.
  3. Use another bowl, and mix wheat flour with the rest of the ingredients (all the spices above).
  4. Use a strainer for the flour and spice mix and pour it into the bowl with butter and sugar.
  5. Knead the dough with your hands until it becomes cohesive.
  6. Divide the dough into approximately 6 long bars with approximately the same thickness as your little finger.
  7. Cut the long bars to approximately 1 cm and roll them into small balls.
  8. Put the “pebernødder” on two oven trays with parchment paper and bake them at 200 c (400 F) for about 7-8 minutes. Or until they are a bit golden.
  9. Let the “pebernødder” cool off and store them in an airtight box. And don’t forget to try some of them before storing them - they are delicious!
