The Season’s Orchid Print

SS26 La Belle Botanique is defined by soft colors, lightweight materials, and organic shapes inspired by nature. At the center of the collection is the season’s orchid print – a motif that appears across multiple styles and ties the collection together.

The print is inspired by the exhibition Mille & une orchidées, which our designers visited during an inspiration trip to the botanical garden in Paris. The exhibition showcased a wide variety of orchid species from around the world, each with its own shape, color, and character. What particularly caught our attention was the orchid’s perfect symmetry. The flower’s petals mirror each other with a precision that almost looks drawn, while the surrounding leaves grow freely and organically. This contrast between structure and movement became the starting point for the season’s print.

From Sketch to Print

After gathering inspiration in Paris, the impressions were translated into the perfect color palette. Soft shades reflecting the natural tones of the season, together with a blue hue that makes the print easy to style with denim.

The flower was first drawn in pencil, gradually shaping a motif with character. Once the drawing was complete, the motif was painted in watercolor, where the soft layers of color gave the print the light and lively expression that characterizes the orchid. Only then was the drawing digitized and refined so the motif could be printed on textile.

The Orchid Print in SS26

The result is a print where the orchid’s symmetry meets more organic leaves in a soft and fluid expression. In the collection, the print appears both in a larger, more striking version and in a finer all-over pattern, offering different interpretations of the same motif.

The orchid continues as an inspiration in other parts of the collection, where the floral theme is reinterpreted in new ways, including knitwear and denim. In this way, the orchid print and the story behind it become a recurring element throughout the collection.
